Partnering with CAUKIN Studios to Build Smarter Spaces
TW2M Design Build partnered with CAUKIN Studios, a social enterprise specializing in community-focused architecture, to support the construction of two playgrounds at Colegio Mesoamericano in Chimaltenango, Guatemala.
CAUKIN’s approach prioritizes sustainable and culturally relevant design, often involving local residents in the building process to ensure projects meet community needs. TW2M contributed construction management and project oversight to help execute the project efficiently.
Transforming Outdoor Spaces for Learning and Play
The project revitalized outdoor areas at Colegio Mesoamericano, creating playgrounds where children can read, play, and engage in a safe and functional environment. TW2M managed logistics and construction to ensure efficiency and durability, while CAUKIN Studios incorporated local materials and builders to enhance sustainability.
By involving the community in the construction process, the project not only delivered much-needed play spaces but also provided local workers with valuable building skills.
